There was quite a lot to love in Zuhair Murad haute couture spring summer 2015 fashion show. Lebanese designer gave his devotees a wide variety of styles, lengths and proportions to choose from. There were peplum shimmering evening jackets. A panoply of floor-skimming evening gowns, with thigh-high slits or without. Girly short dresses or ultra feminine slim fitting alternatives also had a turn on the catwalk. Flowers, a recurring motif during this haute couture week, are once again in the spotlight here, whether in 3D appliqués or delicate embroidered motifs. Aside from a vast assortment of dresses, the line includes a few pants, capes, bodysuits and peplum tops. There was even a crystal-covered body suit that looked ready to be worn on a stage in front of thousands.
The vision of fur-swathed ladies impeccably dressed walking a few blocks down to the show while men and women dressed for hard labor and bad weather conditions streamed past them, made for one of the most surreal of fashion moments this season.
White, ivory and pale grey dominated the color scheme, to say nothing of the colorless transparent materials. The fashion house also included hints of subdued pastels such as sky blue, pink and very pale yellow.
The wedding gowns were stunning as usual, particularly the pièce de résistance: a voluminous ivory gown with a plunging neckline and a gigantic train, all covered in shimmery floral embroidery.
